Economic Performances Grow in Ufa City

Over the period January - March 2008, industrial companies of Ufa City have shipped goods of domestic manufacture and performed activities and services for more than RUR 63 bln., thus exceeding the figure of the previous year by 15%. Ufa's share in the Republic's volume of shipped goods has accounted for almost 30%. Since the beginning of the year, the industrial production index has reached 113% being slightly higher that that of the Republic's (111.6%).

By the end of the first quarter, all industries apart from manufacture of rubber and plastic goods have shown increase in the industrial production index. Reduction of the volume of shipped goods has been witnessed only in the manufacture of transport means (74.8%). As compared to the previous year, volumes of shipped goods in the production of petrochemicals have risen by 19.6% with an industrial production index of 111.8%.

Increased production volumes and shipments of goods have marked work of all Ufa City's oil refineries. The amount of refined oil has grown by 13.8%. Manufacture of high-octane gasoline has risen by 14.1%, diesel fuel - by 10.1% approximately, and furnace fuel oil - by 14.6%. As for chemical industry, the industrial production index and volume of goods shipped have grown by 7.7%.

Among manufacturing activities the highest growth rate of production volumes and shipped goods has been reached in the production of non-metallic mineral products.

As compared to the previous year, improved situation has been observed in woodworking and production of wood items. The volume of shipped goods has grown by more than 1.5 times with an industrial production index of 114.1%.

During the first quarter, high rates were reached by publishing and printing enterprises.

As for textile and clothing manufacture, volumes of goods shipped and services rendered have grown by 30%.

Saturation of the target market with food products and high competitiveness have slightly slowed down the growth rate of production volumes in manufacture of food products, while a rapid rate of shipment, namely 126.2%, has been reached mainly due to increase of manufactured products price.
