Debut of Ufa Talents

The Culture and Arts Department of Ufa City Municipal District Administration of Bashkortostan Republic together with Ufa Department of Interregional Shalyapin centre conducts the 7^th Open City Contest of young vocalists «Debut» named for F. I. Shalyapin. It is dedicated to Shalyapin’s 135^th anniversary of birth. 

The Open City Contest has taken an honorable and worthy place among the regularly held vocal contests in Ufa. The main goals of the contest are identification of vocal-gifted children, popularization of the great classical heritage and modern music.  

Moreover, the contest of young vocalists “Debut” is valuable because of the name of the great singer – Fyodor Ivanovitch Shalyapin, who made his first appearance on stage in Ufa. Today, on Shalyapin’s 135^th anniversary of birth, the promoters of the contest await the debut of a “starlet” on Ufa stage. It may happen that the Concert Hall named for F.I. Shalypin will be the starting point for a new brilliant vocalist.
