New Piece of Art Opened in Ufa

On June 22nd, 2008 Ufa citizens witnessed the opening ceremony of the monument "Ring of Eternity” in the center of the city, namely in Parkhomenko Street.

“A ring that is a symbol of perpetual onward motion and development expresses the concept of any sound business. It has been specially created to be located and demonstrated in a public place under the open air, thus implying direct communication with city environment', says Radik Yamilov, the Director of Khimreaktivsnab ZAO, the central entry of which has become home for this vivid public art piece.


The three-meter high monument has been designed by the honored art worker Of Bashkortostan Republic, a member of the famous creative team “Chingiz Khan”, Nail Bayburin.

Many centuries ago walls of caves and pottery jars were decorated with solar signs. They were circles with crosses of rays inside praising the perpetual movement of the sun. Nowadays we are still gladdened by the sight of the sun. It is still some kind of a deity who gives us a livelong festival and happy life. May be this is the reason why the opening ceremony of the monument took place on June 22nd, that is a day of summer solstice. It is as likely as not that the Ring will become a place to visit by wedding corteges in order to touch the sun and take a piece of its warmth into a newly created hearth and home. As for us, we can state with certainty that a new sightseeing attraction has appeared on the city map.
