International Children’s Games Committee Inspects Ufa Sports Facilities

Torsten Rash, President of the International Children's Games Committee (ICG), together with Richard Smith, General Secretary of the International Children's Games Committee, made an official visit to Ufa in order to inspect sports facilities of the capital where the Summer International Children's Games-2019 might take place. The inspection team also included Iskander Siraev, Deputy Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration, Sergey Stepanov, Chairman of Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of Municipal District Administration, Alexey Novikov, deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Policy of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Andrey Krivosheev, Committee Member of ICG of Ufa, international master of sport.

“We consider Ufa as a candidate to host the International Children's Games in summer of 2019. The final location for the Games will be announced in Taibei where the jubilee 50th Summer International Children's Games will take place in 2016 - Torsten Rasch said.

The first item on the inspection was Neftynik stadium, home arena of Ufa Football Club.
The leaders of ICG Committee inspected the big and small football fields, locker rooms, sportsmen feeding room and swimming pool.

The ICG Committee representatives also visited Dynamo Sport complex, volleyball and basketball courts in Kashkadan park of culture and rest, 32 Sports School, VDNH exhibition complex, the territory of Congress Hall, the Palace of Sports, the Tennis Courts of one of Ufa’s fitness clubs.

The visitors of Ufa highly assessed the sports facilities of the capital and noted the professional approach to the city sport infrastructure organization. They also made a number of useful suggestions for its improvement. The issues of sportsmen’s housing, transportation between the venues of the Games as well as the conditions for the spectators and fans were discussed within the visit.
All the comments and suggestions which were made during the technical inspection of the sports facilities by representatives of the Committee of the International Children's Games will be ordinarily considered by the city administration.

The ICG-2019 Program includes preliminarily 9 sports which are track-and-field athletics, football, swimming, beach volleyball, basketball 3x3, judo, tennis, climbing and fencing.

Note that the International Children's Games were in Ufa in 2013 on 4 main areas:
Ufa – Arena, Palace of Sports, Olympic – Park and Biathlon Sports Complex. The program of the IV Winter International Children's Games had 7 sports where about 800 children from 30 cities of Russia and 30 from 20 countries of the world took part.
